Something so wonderful about voting absentee. I mailed in my vote this week and now I kind of just feel like it’s in the hands of fate or whatever… well that is unless the Republican’s try to steal this election like they did from Al. It’s nice to kind of feel immune to the whole advertising campaigns and everything.
I watched the final debate last night through the extra loud singing of my two year old and a fuzzy antenna reception (I didn’t know the digital was the next number up. duh) This “Joe The Plumber” guy makes me really laugh. Here’s a guy that is worried about how Obama’s tax plan will affect him and we later find he doesn’t even have a license to be a plumber, owes back taxes, and doesn’t make anywhere near $250,000/year. So he’s one of the people Obama’s tax plan will actually help and he still doesn’t get it. I was so happy that Obama really addressed his tax plan and healthcare plans and didn’t let McCain try to smear them into something they are not. Honestly I don’t get why anybody would vote for McCain except for if you were just strictly voting for the guy on “your team”.
The past couple of weeks I’ve been so disgusted with hearing Palin revving up the crowds by smearing Obama’s name and it sounding more like a lynch mob mentality than anything else. If some crazy person goes after Obama I personally believe that McCain and Palin have some blame coming to them. I read this amazing article written by Khaled Hosseini, the man who wrote the book “The Kite Runner”, in the Washington Post and it is exactly how I feel about these types of tactics. Here’s the link: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/10/10/AR2008101002456.html
I was glad to see when a woman at one of McCain’s town hall meetings stood up and said that she was afraid of Obama and that he was an “Arab” that McCain took the microphone away from her and set her straight. But then to go on the debate AGAIN last night and try to link him to not only a terrorist but the whole ACORN thing is just ridiculous. It’s like the recent info that’s starting to surface about “Joe The Plumber aka Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher. That he is somehow connected to Keating and how a relative lives in Wasilla, Alaska… etc. etc. Who really cares. We all knew this guy had an agenda and that he was lying when he said he was an undecided voter. I swear McCain must be one desperate man. Honestly I feel badly that a guy who seemed kind of like a decent person has totally shown us how ugly his character is by going this far just to get elected. He must have a huge and very fragile ego.
Well I THINK I’m done with my political ranting. Let’s hope we can move on to happier topics like the economy improving and people being more prosperous and everybody getting healthcare and the wars ending. I’m clicking my heels right now.

I am counting down the days, and won’t really allow myself to feel hopeful until an Obama victory is a fact. There has been WAY too much corruption these past years, and while I’m looking forward to so many things, there’s nothing I want MORE than an end to that.
