Homemade Birthday Banner

Happy August to all!   I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve last posted.   Life has been busy.  Kate has been enjoying summer camp and we have LOVED meeting other parents and teachers at the school.  It’s just the most wonderful confirmation that we have chosen the right school for her and us.  So in the spirit of Waldorf… kind of…. I thought I would post the photo of Kate and her Papa in front of the banner I made out of felt a few years ago.  It couldn’t have been more simple and is holding up very well.  I decided that since it was so much fun and so easy I might actually start making them for holidays and seasons as well.  I hope you all enjoyed your summer.   If anybody is interested in a little more detail photos let me know and I would be happy to take some close ups.  Have a blessed August!

  1. We used to make great birthday banners. My Dad was an electrical engineer. He would have huge rolls of paper with drawings for building plans on one side and the other would be plain white, untouched. We would get one of the rolls and decorate the whole side with birthday drawings and of course, the big Happy Birthday itself. He usually had enough of them that we did Welcome Home signs too.

  2. That is really cute! I guess I’m going to have to get my butt in gear and think about making something like this in the coming years! Going to have to get Stefan to sew it though since I still am not allowed to touch the sewing machine. 🙂

  3. Thanks Laura and Tiffany!

Laura how great must of that been to grow up with an endless supply of drawing paper!

Tiffany I have complete confidence you could do this project. However I would recommend not procrastinating so long that you have to stay up until 2 am completing it the day of the party! That was one rough day. LoL
