Vigil for Laura Ling and Euna Lee

Lisa Ling sent this invitation for us to show our support of her sister and her sister’s colleague that have been sentenced to 12 years in a North Korea prison for reporting on human trafficking. The very least we can do for these two women is to tell their story and plead to our government to come to their rescue.

Here’s Lisa’s invitation:

“Hi Friends,

I hope you can join me this Thursday, July 9 on the steps of the Capitol at 6:30 PM for a vigil in support of my sister Laura and her colleague Euna Lee who were arrested in North Korea and sentenced to 12 years hard labor.

As you can imagine this has been devastating for our family as we have heard Laura’s voice only twice in more than 3 months.

What Laura and Euna were trying to do was give a voice to those who have none. Now their voices have also been silenced. Since their detention, their health has deteriorated quite a bit, we are extremely concerned.

We are making a plea for mercy with the hope that they may be released on humanitarian grounds.

Please invite as many people as possible to show your support for truth.

Thanks, I hope to see you Thurs.

Lisa Ling”

Please post this invitation on your own blog, tweet about it, and mention it on Facebook. Let’s speak up for these women. They so need our support!
